Tokio Hotel é uma banda alemã fundada em Magdeburgo em 2001 pelo vocalista Bill Kaulitz,seu irmão gemeo Tom Kaulitz que toca guitarra, Georg Listing que toca baixo e o baterista Gustav Schäfer. O quarteto vendeu mais de 6 milhões de CDs e DVDs. Depois de gravar um CD-demo inédito sob o nome de "Devilish" e ter seu contrato rescindido com a Sony BMG, a banda libera seu primeiro álbum em língua alemã, Schrei,desta vez como Tokio Hotel no Island Records em 2005. Schrei vendeu mais de 1,5 milhão de cópias mundialmente e entrou em quarto no top cinco singles na Alemanha e na Áustria. Em 2007, a banda libera seu segundo álbum Zimmer 483 e seu primeiro álbum em inglês, Scream, que tenham estimado álbum de vendas de mais de um milhão de cópias em todo o mundo e ajudou a banda a ganhar seu primeiro MTV Europe Music Award para "Best Interact". O antigo, Zimmer 483, gerou três singles top cinco na Alemanha, enquanto Scream, gerou dois singles que atingiram o top vinte em novos territórios, como Portugal, Espanha e Itália. Em Setembro de 2008, ganharam seu primeiro MTV Video Music Award para Best New Artist. Eles também ganharam o prêmio headliner no MTV Europe Music Awards 2008, realizada em Liverpool, em 6 de Novembro de 2008.
